John Abraham was born on 17th December 1972 in Mumbai. His schooling was at the Bombay Scottish School and completed MMS from Mumbai Educational Trust (MET). He made his career in modeling and acting."Surma" was Jhon's first music video which launched him in bollywood, he got assignments from Time & Space Media Entertainment Promotions Ltd,Nexus and in 1999 he won Glad rags Manhunt Contest after that he was signed as model in Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York City.
John got his first movie 'Jism'in year 2003 opposite Bipasha Basu. With the same film both celebrity showed interest and dated each other. other films were Saaya,Paap and Lakeer which proved a box office failure. In 2004 he got role of a villain in movie 'Dhoom'and this film became highest earner of the year. Then he got a major role in film 'Water’ which was nominated for the Academy Awards. In 2006 his four movies were released these were Zinda, Taxi No 9211, Baabul and Kabul Express. He starred in Dostana a movie by Karan Johar with Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra,and the film got good response.In year 2007 he was seen with his girlfriend bollywood actress Bipasha Basu at the launch of the Film fare magazine.
John believes in charity and social welfare and often seen involved in such activities like with PETA,Jhon's Brigade,donation to Lilavati Hospital of Mumbai and Mumbai Marathon.
